The Threshold

Some decisions don’t start with what to do next.

They start somewhere quieter.

Whether to keep going at all.

It looks simple.

Keep going.

Or stop.

It doesn’t feel simple.

Press on, and it might be courage.

Or a refusal to see what’s already there.

Pull back, and it might be wisdom.

Or stepping away too soon.

In the moment, it’s hard to tell which is which.

The line isn’t as clear as you’d hope.

There are times you wait for certainty before you move.

And others where you move to avoid needing it.

Neither is neutral.

It carries a cost either way.

A decision still gets made.

Just not always for the reasons you think.

It starts to show.

Not just in what happens.

But in what doesn’t.

You probably already know where this is showing up.

If you’re carrying something like this and want a place to think it through clearly, the next step is a focused leadership conversation.
